Why Edges Lift: What To Document And Review
A lifted edge is a reason to inspect the surface and detail. Photographs and a use history help the installer distinguish possible causes.

Capture Conditions Before Repair
Take an overall photograph and a close-up showing the affected edge, nearby joint and substrate. Record when it appeared, recent cleaning, impacts and exposure to heat or moisture. Avoid pulling the film farther or applying an improvised adhesive before the condition is reviewed.
Review Preparation And The Detail
The review may include surface condition, adhesion testing, application technique and edge exposure. Product-specific preparation matters; adding primer is not a universal repair. Agree whether the appropriate response is a local repair, panel replacement or correction of the underlying surface.
Before Your Project Review
- Keep the pattern code and installation date.
- Record cleaning products and exposure conditions.
- Contact the responsible installer with photos.
