Project Planning

Selecting An Installer: Evidence To Review

For commercial work, evaluate how an installer plans, tests and documents the finish. A training claim alone does not describe the proposed project.

Ask For Relevant Detail

Ask to review comparable substrate and edge conditions, not only distant finished-room photographs. Confirm who assesses adhesion, coordinates repairs and approves the first installed sample. If a manufacturer credential is represented, verify its current scope with the issuing organization.

Make Responsibilities Visible

A useful proposal identifies included surfaces, preparation, exclusions, access requirements and acceptance criteria. Ask how changes will be recorded and who handles a post-installation concern. Keep project references separate from manufacturer affiliation and do not infer certification from a logo alone.

Before Your Project Review

  • Review a comparable edge or corner detail.
  • Confirm preparation and mockup responsibilities.
  • Get a clear scope and handover process.
  • Ask the property team about vendor onboarding, access and closeout documents.
