Project Planning
Leased Commercial Space: Approvals And Future Removal
Agree on the finish scope and future restoration responsibilities before changing a leased commercial interior. Do not assume every adhesive finish removes without damage.

Document The Starting Condition
Photograph existing coatings, damaged areas and fixture boundaries. Share the proposed material and affected surfaces with the person authorized to approve alterations. Keep written approval with the project file and clarify who handles access, hardware and any required reinstatement.
Plan For A Future Condition Review
Removal results depend on the coating, substrate, adhesive system and time in service. Request a representative test where feasible and a plan for repair if the underlying finish is affected. Keep the final surface schedule so a future team knows exactly what was installed.
Before Your Project Review
- Obtain written approval for the proposed surfaces.
- Record the original condition and finish system.
- Discuss removal and restoration before installation.
